Game Jam+ Manila is Here!

For all the aspiring game developers (in any aspect of game dev: writer, artist, musician, project manager, or whatever – maybe you’ll learn what aspect you’re interested in along the way), Game Jam Plus (GJ+) is finally open for registration! The game jam will be held on October 15-16 (it’s a 48-hour jam). Here’s the GJ+ main website: https://gamejamplus.com/.

(For those who don’t know what a game jam is, it’s a game development competition).

For those in the Philippines, you can register for Game Jam Plus Manila. Note: you can use the code GJPLUSMANILA to get a 100% off on the registration fee… or you can pay for it if you want to support the movement.

GJ+ Manila will have multiple events along with the actual game jam. There will be 3 workshops (online), 1 networking mixer (offline), and the game jam which will be held online.

You can register with or without a team, and you can also register even if you’ll still be looking for some teammates because we can help you find teammates – we have a Discord server where you can join to find teammates as well as seek guidance from experienced game developers or fellow competitors.

For more info, you may refer to DevelUP’s facebook page. If you have any further questions, feel free to message the DevelUP facebook page, comment on this post, or message me on my socials (Twitter (@wingspoo), Instagram (@wingspoo)).

For those in South East Asia, try to wait for a few weeks (maybe 2?) to see if your own country/city will host as a satellite venue – which will be connected to Game Jam Plus Manila. (*note: we contacted multiple South East Asian Game Studios if they’re interested in hosting a satellite venue). Otherwise, you may also register for Game Jam Plus Manila.

Side note: GJ+ Manila is the only GJ+ venue in Asia, although we decided to only contact the South East Asian Game Studios to be a satellite venue because covering whole Asia will take a lot of effort.

For those not in the Philippines/Asia, you can go to the Registrations section of the GJ+ website to see which city is nearest to your area so you can register there.

If there’s none (this goes for all the countries/cities without a GJ+ organizer), you can also organize the Game Jam Plus event in your own city. Although it will probably be for next year since this year’s GJ+ has already started with the registrations.

PS: There will be official judges for GJ+ Manila (of course), but I’ll also try to review each and every one of the games submitted 🙂 Good luck to everyone who will join GJ+, not only in Manila, but in all parts of the world!
